Welcome from the Head of Year 10 Miss Eggison
Hello and welcome! I’m Miss Eggison the Head of Year 10 here at Cardinal Newman. Year 10 is an exciting and pivotal time for our students as they begin their GCSE courses, including their first GCSE exam in English. This year also offers a valuable opportunity for students to participate in work experience during the summer, helping them explore potential career paths and gain real-world insights into the working environment.
In addition to academic challenges, Year 10 is also a time for students to engage in leadership opportunities that contribute to their personal growth. Through roles such as student council representatives, subject leaders and other leadership positions, students will be able to develop important skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which will serve them well both in school and in future endeavors.
It is my privilege to support the academic, social, and personal development of all students during this crucial phase of their education. My role is to ensure that every student feels valued, supported, and confident as they work toward their goals. The combination of GCSE preparation, work experience, and leadership opportunities will not only help them make informed career choices but also foster personal development.
At Cardinal Newman, we foster a strong sense of community, respect, and mutual support. Whether it’s offering guidance, assisting with challenges, or celebrating their achievements, my door is always open. I look forward to working closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure a successful, engaging, and rewarding year ahead.
